I have a number of website operating on Altushost, and this came as a shock to me.

When suddenly i was about to change some codes on one of my website, the website stopped working…For 10 minutes even Altushost didn’t know what is going on, but when they realized it, they quickly powered off all the compromised servers.

For all those who have been affected by this problem, Altushost will provide 2 months additional hosting as compensation.

Here is the Official Statement.

Dear clients,

Due security leak in WHMCS our management panel which is powered by WHMCS has been hacked today around 5PM (CET).
After hackers entered to our management panel they started removing accounts located on our VPS master node as well as some shared hosting servers.
Since we noticed issue after 10 minutes, we’ve localized attack, powered off all compromised servers.
We have backups of most compromised servers, but unfortunately, for some of them we do not have. We was just in middle of setting up r1backup server for all our shared hosting servers and VPS nodes.

Because of this, in next 24-48 hours our management panel will be off because of security reasons. Since we need deeply to investigate this attack. We are in business since 2008 and this is 1st time such big attack happened on us. This was well organized by someone who doesn’t like us so much.

Since many of you were down for 5+ hours, and some of you still are, we will offer 2 months free to all clients who were down today.
We do understand how mad you are on us now, we are mad as well. Such thing isn’t good neither for your or our business.

But we assure you that all will be back in function ASAP and we will give our best to make you, our client, happy!

This today were an hard, but good lesson for our company.
Within next 48h We will switch from WHMCS to UberSmith which is much more secured Data Center Management portal (ubersmith.com) and leading DC Management portal today.

Our servers are very secure, however this time, our management panel failed due security issue in WHMCS. Anyway, we don’t try to make any excuses, it’s our fault and we are ready to take full responsibility because of that.

Most of accounts are restored from our local backups now and 90% of VPS & Shared Hosting servers should work now without issues.
If your website is still down, please email us on Click here to view mail address so we can work on your matter.

Your sincerely,
Julian F.
Senior Technical Engineer
AltusHost Inc.

Even i am waiting for my other website to come up asap.
but over all i liked Altushost as compared to the Hosting provider who is powering up WEBJASSI.

I will soon be shifting WEBJASSI to Altushost even after what has happened.

BLACKMARCH Protest against SOPA PIPA and ACTA

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Thursday, March 1st 2012 to Saturday 31st March 2012

With the continuing campaigns for internet-censoring litigation such as SOPA and PIPA, and the closure of sites such as MEGAUPLOAD under allegations of ‘piracy’ and ‘conspiracy’ the time has come to take a stand against Music, Film and Media Companies’ lobbyists.

The only way is to him them where it truly hurts.
There profit Margins.

March 2012 is the end of the 1st quarter in economic reports worldwide.

Do not buy a single record. Do not download a single song, legally or illegally. Do not go to see a single film in cinemas, or download a copy, Do not buy a DVD in stores. Do not buy a video-game. Do not buy a single book or magazine.

Wait the 4 weeks to buy them in April: see the film later, etc. Holding out for just 4 weeks, maximum, will leave a gaping hole in media and entertainment companies’ profits for the first quarter, an economic hit which will in turn be observed by governments worldwide as stocks and shares will blip from large enough loss of incomes.
This action can give a statement of intend:

“We will not tolerate the Media Industries’ lobbying for legislation which will censor the internet”

Anonymous Hackers take revenge over MEGAUPLOAD shutdown

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Hackers aligned with the global cyber-collective known as Anonymous have claimed responsibility for taking down at least six prominent websites, including those of the US Department of Justice and Universal Music Group, in retaliation for charges levied earlier Thursday against content-sharing site Megaupload.com.

Both Universalmusic.com and Justice.gov crashed Thursday afternoon and remained down as of 6:50pm ET.

The group also said it brought down the websites of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the US Copyright Office and the Utah Chiefs of Police Association.
