Tags: , , ,

Kross was born and raised in Sacramento, California. She has described herself in high school as “the book nerd”. She began stripping at the age of eighteen at Rick’s Showgirls in Rancho Cordova, California, to earn extra money to purchase a pony that was going to be slaughtered. She was later contacted by an agent and started modeling in adult magazines.

Kross was a senior at California State University, Sacramento, when she signed an exclusive performing contract with Vivid Video in November 2006. Her movies with Vivid included Kayden’s First Time, Hard Time, and Be Here Now. Unhappy with the company, she became a free agent one year later when she did not renew her contract. After one month of being a free agent, she signed an exclusive contract with Adam & Eve.

Kross has appeared in several episodes of The Block, a reality snowboarding show that aired on G4TV, in which the Vivid Girls went to The Block hotel for a photo shoot. She also appeared on the Gene Simmons’ reality show, Family Jewels. She was named Penthouse Pet of the Month for September 2008.

Kross’ official web site, ClubKayden.com, launched on September 2, 2008. Alongside a blog she hosts at UnKrossed.com, Kross writes regular updates and opinion columns for MikeSouth.com, an adult industry gossip blog, among other sites.

In October 2007, Kross was charged with grand theft and violations of the California Civil Code involving contracts for purchases of home equity. In July 2009, the grand-theft charge was dismissed and the real-estate-fraud charge was reduced to a misdemeanor; Kross pleaded no contest to the resulting charges and was sentenced to one day in custody and three years of probation.

Along with Kirsten Price, Kayden will host the 2010 AVN Awards show.

Transformers 2’ is China’s biggest hit ever

$59 million box office is enough to eclipse ‘Titanic’ record

HONG KONG – The “Transformers” sequel has become China’s biggest box office hit ever by earning 400 million Chinese yuan ($59 million), a publicist for the country’s leading state-run film company said Friday.

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” surpassed the 11-year-old record of 360 million yuan set by “Titanic,” spokesman Weng Li at the China Film Group, one of the country’s two film importers, told The Associated Press. “Titanic” made

about $43 million based on exchange rates in 1998, the year it was released.

Weng said the “Transformers” sequel, released June 24, received a wide release on several thousand screens. China had about 4,100 screens by the end of 2008. The first “Transformers” installment raked in 280 million yuan in 2007.

“This is a tremendous achievement for the market in China and clearly shows that there is a strong growing demand for international films,” said Mike Ellis, Asia-Pacific managing director of the Hollywood trade organization, Motion Picture Association of America.

The group wants China to relax its movie import quota of allowing in just 20 foreign blockbusters a year, aimed at boosting its domestic industry.

Weng said both installments of John Woo’s two-part Chinese historical epic “Red Cliff” earned 300 million yuan ($44 million) this year and last, as did Chinese director Feng Xiaogang’s 2008 romantic comedy “If You Are the One.”

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen,” a science fiction movie, was apparently slightly censored. In the film’s opening sequence, the Autobots and Decepticons battle in an industrial part of Shanghai, but when a U.S. military commander refers to the city, the word “Shanghai” is muffled.

Chinese censors are sensitive to portrayals of their country in foreign movies.

The “Transformers” record also highlights the earning potential of Hollywood films in China. But with piracy a lingering problem and moviegoing largely the habit of wealthier urbanites, the growing Chinese box office revenues remain small compared to the U.S.

The “Transformers” sequel earned $62 million on its opening day in the U.S. alone. The $200 million production has grossed $348 million in the U.S. and $380 million outside the country, according to the box office tracking Web site Box Office Mojo.

Chinese box office revenues totaled 4.3 billion yuan ($630 million) in 2008, compared to $9.8 billion in the U.S. in the same year.

Jackson Custody Hearing Pushed Back, Again

Tags: , , , , , ,

Looks like Debbie Rowe and Katherine Jackson’s lawyers are doing everything in their power to keep their clients from having to share a courtroom.

293.jackson.kids.jackson.michael.memorial2.lc.070709A custody hearing related to the care of Michael Jackson’s three children has been postponed yet again, this time to Aug. 3. His mother will remain the kids’ temporary guardian in the meantime.

When announcing that there wouldn’t be a court date this past Monday, either, Katherine’s attorney, L. Londell McMillan, said they and Rowe’s camp were hoping the extra time would allow them “to privately and amicably resolve this most important matter in a dignified manner for the benefit of the children first and all involved.”

Rowe’s side has remained mum—except to deny stories that the mother of Jackson’s two eldest kids had settled for another big, fat payday in exchange for any custodial rights—but the repeated docket-ducking has prompted all sorts of speculation as to just what an amicable resolution in this case might entail.

Amid reports that the two sides are nearing a resolution…here’s hoping it harbors aspects of amicability when it arrives.

Also scheduled for Aug. 3 is a hearing on the King of Pop’s estate, which he left under the executorship of attorney John Branca and music exec John McClain in a 2002 will.

A judge shot down Katherine’s attempt to continue on as a special administrator last week.

Half-Blood Prince Earns $58 Million Opening Day

Tags: , ,

Harry Potter’s $22 million in earnings at midnight showings may be the biggest of all time, but the boy wizard’s total opening day harry-potter-poster-71box office is less record breaking. It’s only the fourth biggest of all time.

ERC reports that harry potter and the half blood prince earned a whopping $58 million on Wednesday, its opening day. It’s the fourth biggest single-day gross of all time, bested only by Spider-Man 3 with $59 million, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with $62 million, and the all time champ The Dark Knight with $67 million.

That means that after earning that $22 million in midnight showings, fans showed up and handed over $36 million more to Daniel Radcliffe and his friends. Expect equally big numbers over this weekend. Transformers finally has some box office competition.

Harry Potter and the half blood prince review

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

In Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter
(Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) are best pals. Harry’s biggest challenge in the school is a secret assignment by Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon). Harry kinopoiskru-harry-potter-the-half-blood-prince-723737suspects that new dangers may lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle with Lord Voldemort (who surprisingly doesn’t appear in the entire movie). Dumbledore needs Harry to help him uncover a vital key to unlocking Voldemort’s defences critical information known only to Hogwarts’ former Potions Professor, Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent).

With that in mind, Dumbledore manipulates his old colleague Professor Slughorn into returning to his previous post with promises of more money and the chance to teach Harry. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as adolescent hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry’s long friendship with Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright) is growing into something deeper, but standing in the way is Ginny’s boyfriend and her big brother Ron.

But Ron’s has his won romantic entanglements with Lavender Brown (Jessie Cave) lavishing her affections on him. This leaves leaving Hermione simmering with jealousy yet determined not to show her feelings. And then a box of love potion-laced chocolates ends up in the wrong hands and changes everything. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof with far more important matters on his mind. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

harry-potter-and-the-half-blood-prince-20080320101218658_640wThe movie acts as a great platform for the Radcliffe, Watson and Grint to display their maturing acting skills and they do not disappoint the audience. Whether their acting careers flourish after “Harry Potter” or not, they will leave behind one of the most successful series of films man has ever seen. Michael Gambon Jim Broadben and Bonnie wright play their roles well in the movie.

The movie drags a bit toward the end but screenwriter Steve Kloves generally keeps the plot rolling. He also adds a new scenes such as the opening attack on London’s Millennium Bridge. At 153 minutes the movie seems a shade longer perhaps a 10 minute editing would have made it look better. Harry Potter has always set high standards when it has come visual-effects and Half Blood Price in no exception in this regard.

half-blood-prince_lDavid Yates who took over the job of helming with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix directs Half Blood Prince in his deepening confidence and comfort. He has lived up to the high standards set by Chris Columbus, Alfonso Cuaron and Mike Newell in the first four movies. Yates remarkable controls the action sequences well and gives his stars much needed breathing space between the action sequences.

In Half-Blood Prince Yates stays true to the JK Rowling’s although he infuses a certain amount of freshness and energy that makes it seem like a new stuff rather than the screen adoption of a Novel. Yates will also helm the the two-part adaptation of the seventh and final book Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows but with Half Blood Prince he has set a grand finale. It is a must watch for all the Harry Potter fans and even for those who have missed the previous five editions.

Michael Jackson Dead!

Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead today after paramedics found him in a coma at his Bel-Air mansion, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.

Los Angeles Fire Department Capt. Steve Ruda told The Times that paramedics responded to a 911 call from the home. When they arrived, Jackson was not breathing.

The paramedics performed CPR and took Jackson to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda said. Hundreds of reporters gathered at the hospital awaiting word on his condition. The sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said family members rushed to Jackson’s bedside, where he was in a deep coma.

The circumstances of Jackson’s death remain unclear. Law enforcement sources said that Los Angeles Police Department robbery-homicide detectives have opened an investigation into the death, though they stressed that there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing.

The detectives plan to interview relatives, friends and Jackson’s doctors to try to figure out what happened. The L.A. County coroner’s office will determine a cause of death. A Los Angeles Fire Department source told The Times that Jackson was in full cardiac arrest when rescue units arrived.

A doctor was in the house performing CPR on Jackson, said the source who asked not to be identified  because he was not authorized to speak to the media. Paramedics were called to a home in the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard.

Jackson rented the Bel-Air home — described as a French chateau built in 2002 with seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater — for $100,000 a month. The home is about a six-minute drive from UCLA Medical Center. Jackson has three children — sons Prince Michael 7, and Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., 12, and daughter Paris Michael Katherine, 11.

Jackson, 50, died as he was attempting a comeback after years of tabloid headlines, most notably his trial and acquittal on child molestation charges.

In May, The Times reported that Jackson had rented the Bel-Air residence and was rehearsing for a series of 50 sold-out shows in London’s O2 Arena. Jackson had won the backing of two billionaires to get the so-called “King of Pop” back on stage.

His backers envisioned the shows at AEG’s O2 as an audition for a career rebirth that could have ultimately encompassed a three-year world tour, a new album, movies, a Graceland-like museum, musical revues in Las Vegas and Macau, and even a “Thriller” casino. Such a rebound could have wiped out Jackson’s massive debt.
